Message From The Coach
SOBC Richmond Curling is held at The Richmond Curling Club on 5540 Hollybridge Way, Richmond, BC, V7C4N3. It is near Gilbert and Elmsbridge and is accessible by public transit. We start on Sunday, October 4/09 on sheet 1. Our usual time will be from 11 am to 1 pm. The season ends in late March 2010. It is a very comfortable facility. Presently there is no charge for curling for SOBC RIchmond athletes. We usually have about 8 athletes registered and we are still accepting new athletes. Present members range in age from 20 – 45 years. We have enough equipment for about 12 people. You can bring your own curling shoes, grippers, brushes and other curling equipment, if you can. New curlers should remember to dress warmly. We usually have about 3 Coaches and Volunteers. We emphasize safety on the ice, encourage healthy competition, cooperation with your team mates and fun. In a typical year we would play in 1 or 2 bonspiels - usually held in the Greater Vancouver area. These usually cost athletes about $15 each.
