Rhythmic Gymnastics

Message From The Coach

Rhythmic Gymnastics is a sport where female athletes dance to music with one of several apparatus. Apparatus include hoops, balls, ropes, ribbons and clubs. This sport is great for any athletes who love to dance to music, perform in front of an audience and laugh and smile.

The Rhythmic Gymnastics Program runs for 7 months from the first week of October until the first week of May.  The 2008-2009 program began on October 11, 2008 and will end for most athletes on May 3, 2009. All athletes learn 4 individual routines that they will perform at various competitions throughout the year. There is also the opportunity for motivated and enthusiastic athletes to learn group routines and perform at some recreational performances throughout Richmond.

This year there are 7 participants in the program with 4 coaches ranging in age from 13 to 50 with a wide variety of skill levels. All of our athletes will attend two competitions this year: one in Victoria and one in Richmond. Those athletes who are competing at Provincials in July will attend an extra invitational competition in Abbotsford.

We welcome new athletes at any point during year! For more information on rhythmic gymnastics please visit the wikipedia page at:
